Solution
Laundry top load washer is leaking water.
To determine next steps, determine where the water is leaking from.
Water leaking from the inlet water hose
- Check for kinks or holes in hoses.
- Check all hose connections.
- Replace washer hoses.
If leaking is found
- Turn off water. Wipe up excess water.
- Disconnect connection. Inspect the "O"-ring gasket to make sure it is visible and undamaged.
- If "O"-ring is damaged or missing, replace it.
- Inspect the blue and/or red connector on the unit for cracks and breaks.
- Reconnect. Hand tighten and then use a wrench to tighten and additional 1/2 turn.
- If cracked or broken, schedule service. Cracks or breaks are normally caused by over tightening.
Water leaking from the drain hose
- Ensure the drain hose is secured to the drainpipe with a cable/zip tie (usually included in installation pack), bracket etc.
Note: If not securely fastened this may cause the drain hose to become loose and allow water to miss the drain. - Check home drain or standpipe for clogs. Pour a gallon of water down the drainpipe, if water comes back up, drain is clogged. Contact a plumber for assistance.
Note: Inspect hose for any damage or leaks. If damaged or leaking, schedule service.
Water leaking from the lid or underneath unit
- Check that all of the shipping materials have been removed. Shipping bolts are the most common error.
- Make sure the unit is level.
Are the fill-hose connections loose or cross-threaded at the faucet or washer?
- Check by realigning the threads, make sure that the rubber sealing washers are in good shape and seated properly, and tighten the hose connections.
- If the connections are loose, the appliance may need to be reinstalled or replace the rubber sealing washers.
