How to clean the Cabinet
- This will help preserve the appearance of your Dehumidifier.
- Unplug the unit to disconnect power. The unit may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a cloth dampened in a solution of mild soap and water (no bleach or ammonia). Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around the controls or near the vents. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the unit.
How to clean the Bucket
- This will help reduce the formation of odor from the growth of algae. In pump models, reduces the likely hood of pump blockage.
- Review the bucket disassembly instructions in the owners manual. Remove the caring handle by bending the support tab to one side, unlock and remove the handle, lift off the splash guard. Wash out with mild soap and water. Reassemble and reinstall. Pan treatment tablets may be used to reduce odors and prevent algae.
How to store the unit
- Proper storage will prevent odors and assure proper restart.
- If you plan to store the unit, disconnect the power and all drain hoses (if used) and let the items sit and dry for 1-2 days (if possible).
- Drain and wash the bucket.
- Cover the unit with plastic or return it to the original carton. You may also use a storage blanket if available
- NOTE: When you go to reuse the unit in the future, it is best to clean the filter and flush out the drain hoses.
