- Dehumidifier unit feels warm or hot
Applies to
- Dehumidifiers
Solution
Does the unit feel warm or blowing warm air?
- It is very typical for your unit to be warm to touch when in use and blow out warm air. This appliance uses both a compressor and fan to run that generate heat. The condensation process extracts heat from the room air. This heat is collected and transferred to the exhaust air.
- Make sure the unit has sufficient space around it. If the unit does not display an error code it is operating normally.
- Unplug the unit for 30 minutes and plug back in.
- If the unit continues to run hot, unplug it and contact us for further assistance.
Is the unit set to "Continuous Run" (Displays "CO")
- "Continuous Run" (Display = CO) will cause the compressor to run continuously, making the unit feel warmer.
- "Continuous Run" is recommended for short periods (1 or 2 days) during high humidity only. Unit should then be set to the desired humidity set point.
