Solution

Keeping your microwave clean is simple when it becomes part of your routine—and a clean appliance always performs at its best. Start by unplugging the unit. Wipe the exterior metal surfaces with mild soap and water or a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar. Follow with a clean, damp cloth to remove any residue, then dry with a soft cloth for a streak‑free finish. Avoid store‑bought stainless‑steel cleaners, and for the touch control panel, use only a lightly damp cloth and a gentle wipe—no scrubbing or harsh products.

Clean the window, inside and out, with a soft cloth. Inside the microwave, warm water is usually all you need. For heavier buildup, add a little baking soda or mild soap to your cloth. If any splatters reach the wave guide cover—the metal‑looking plate on the sidewall—wipe them away gently with a damp cloth as soon as you see them. Never remove the cover.

The turntable and its support lift out easily for cleaning. Wash them by hand with warm, soapy water or place them in the top rack of your dishwasher. The wire rack or shelf can also be washed with hot, soapy water.

If you’d like to freshen the interior, try a simple deodorizing steam:
Mix 1 cup of water with the grated peel and juice of one lemon and a few whole cloves in a 2‑cup glass measuring cup. Heat on full power for several minutes. Once it cools, wipe the interior with a soft cloth.

It’s an easy way to keep your microwave looking great—and ready for the next meal.
