Microwaves - How do I change the oven light on my over-the-range microwave?
Applies to
- Microwaves
Solution
First, unplug the microwave or turn off the power at the circuit breaker.
Remove the vent grill mounting screws and remove the vent grill. Remove the charcoal filter, if used, by pushing it inwards, then turning it and pull it out of the unit.
Now you can open the light cover by pulling up on the front edge. Unscrew the old light bulb and replace it with an equivalent, new 30-watt bulb. Carefully push the light cover back into place. Then re-insert the charcoal filter and replace and the vent grill into its original position. Be sure to engage its bottom and top tabs. Finally, replace the vent grill mounting screws.
Remember to plug the microwave back in or flip the circuit breaker back to the ON position when you’re done.
